2011 UPDATE
NOW IS THE TIME TO BUY &

We
were all excited to say goodbye to the recession in 2010! In spite of
the economic conditions, the number of people interested in houseboating
increased noticeably in 2010.
With
increased activity, we also saw a significant reduction in the
availability of “bottom layer” houseboats which are foreclosures,
repossessions, bank-owned boats, and short sales. The minority of
houseboats that fell in this “bottom layer” category created a false
image that the entire houseboat market was at wholesale pricing. With
these boats disappearing, it opens the door for a more stable houseboat
market.
While
the reduced number of “bottom layer” houseboats is an improvement for
the houseboat industry, the overall effect of the economic downturn has
produced a number of great buys at all price points.
What does all this mean?
If

their boats competitively for current market conditions.
